PROPANE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
PROPANE FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Homeowners, municipalities, and commercial and industrial businesses prefer gas energy because it is clean, reliable and economical. And where natural gas is not available, propane is.
Propane is used by millions of Americans each day.
People use propane in and around their homes for furnaces, water heaters, air conditioners, outdoor grills, fireplaces, and appliances; on farms for uses such as pest control, crop drying, and irrigation pumps; for industrial uses such as forklifts and fleet vehicles; and in millions of commercial establishments, including restaurants and hotels that depend on propane for heating, cooking, and other uses.
Tanks Come in Many Sizes and Shapes, Including Hard-to-See!
Propane tanks can be large or portable — and safely buried, virtually invisible to a homeowner.
There are two main types of propane tanks. DOT cylinders, familiar to homeowners with propane grills, are generally used above ground and typically don't contain more than 25 gallons of propane. Horizontal ASME tanks can hold 250 to more than 1,000 gallons and are safe to bury underground, out of sight.
On average, a 500-gallon tank can easily provide the energy for a four-bedroom home, while a tank with a capacity of 1,000 gallons or more can fuel a larger home with additional energy demands such as a swimming pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen, and patio lighting. A large, centrally located ASME tank can even provide propane to an entire development of homes.
FPUC can advise you on proper tank size and location and handle both the installation and the gas hookup to the house. From start to finish, you'll get the help you need to do the job right.

Customer Qualifications - A Company Owned System may only be installed on a propane storage tank owned by FPUC that is provided to an active or pending new customer. A Customer Owned System may be sold to an active FPUC propane customer who either leases or owns their propane storage tank. FPUC will not sell or provide units to non-FPUC accounts. Leased customers must sign a new 5-year gas service agreement if the Company Owned option is selected. Customers who choose to purchase their own remote monitoring equipment are not required to sign a new gas service agreement.
Quality Service Commitment - Should FPUC allow a monitored tank to run out of fuel, FPUC will provide the customer with a credit of $50.00 for a residential account and $100.00 for a commercial account. Note: If a customer’s telephone or electric service is not working, FPUC’s remote tank monitoring system will not be able to monitor their propane tank. This could result in a run out that would not be covered by FPUC’s Quality Service Commitment.
